I come from the Mainland, where it would actually be cold enough to have snow on the mountain, and even on the beach back in 1976! No, I will not tell you my age! We would go to the mountains and cut our own tree. It was so much fun! Here, Island Style, it is Mele Kelikimaka and Santa is on a surfboard! Over the years I have lived here I have gotten used to it and it actually does feel Christmasy with 75 degree weather. The trees have to be shipped in and one year a week before Christmas, they ran out of trees, and those who had them left were charging up to $150 per tree! That was about 5 years ago, so that may be normal now, as far as pricing goes!

The economy and having money to spend at this season leaves a lot to be desired. You can no longer count on showing up to work everyday on time and do a good job for job security. As you know, many Companies that were always American icons, have closed down. People don't have jobs. The Unemployment rate is up and that is a known fact as many of the unemployed ran out of unemployment and are now on Welfare. There is no middle class. I don't understand what middle class is! You either have or you are struggling financially. -->

More and more Americans are turning to the Internet to make an Income, either part time or full time from home. For that extra $500 per month to supplement your income to full time workers who have more than one income stream. If one stream dries up, you still have income streams that are making money for you.

What are you good at? Can you write? Can you type? Can you copy and paste? What do you enjoy doing? Maybe you have an existing business offline that you would like to bring online to create more exposure and more income! The possibilities of making money from home are limitless!

The most important thing is, don't give up after six months and you are not making six figures yet! As in all things in life worth while, it takes time, and learning from your mistakes!

Or just hit the enter key on your computer. Fill out the requested information follow the instructions on your screen that  guide you. You can have as many email accounts as you like at Gmail.

You can use one just for your blogging and article writing. Make sure you white list the email you will receive from Google Blogger, and any article writing sites you submit to.

What do you consider yourself to be an "expert" at? You want your blogs to be from 200 to 600 words in length and be full of keywords that will drive traffic to your blog. You can use the Google Keyword Tool for this. Because everything is tied together at Google, you can also sign up for a Google Ad Words account to advertise and Google Ad Sense, which will monetize your blog.

How To Build Traffilc and Sales

I would like to share with you some of the methods I have used for generating traffic to my sites. You need to know what keywords will drive traffic to your niche, and to your page.

Keywords are simply words or phrases that you type into the search engine box when you are trying to find something online. A product, a service any thing at all! Some keywords you use will bring up hundreds of thousands of addresses. You want to narrow down the keyword search so you are not competing with such high numbers!

Remember, when you are writing an article or blogging, the first thing you need to have keyword rich content in is the title.

Google has a handy tool called keyword tool. Once you have decided on what niche you are going to write an article about, you should have some ideas for what keywords you would like to select. Go to Google Keyword Tool and type in your keywords.Pick out some keyword phrases that maybe have about 5000 sites pulled up, or even less. I paste the keywords on a word pad document for easy access! Use your keyword phrase as much as possible, but not to the point of being redundant.

Search with keyword: how to drive traffic to my Click Here! site. Do some research on your niche and make sure that you are giving out some good, solid information, enough for your reader to want more information. Most articles should be anywhere from 400-500 words.

You want to generate traffic to your landing page, this would be your site, or if you are an affiliate of a program, most of them give you their site to market. Having your own site, though, you can drive traffic to it and it can have an email subscription box on it for your prospects to receive more information, as well as links to your programs. Generate massive traffic to your site by working at it as much as you can.

It is really such a great experience to be your own boss, get to be online and make so many new contacts and friends.

The commute from the morning cup of coffee up to the office is never slow or stopped. What makes it possible for you to earn from home online?

Of course, from experienced marketer to Newbie (that's okay we were all there once!), to actually earn money at home you need to generate massive amounts of traffic to your site. It is all a numbers game. Call them visitors, customers or leads, you want them to find your page, so they can find what they need there. 

This is something that maybe you haven't considered....Do you have the right mindset to make money online? You must develop that mindset of a millionaire in order to become one. Positive energy attracts positive results! You have to know for a fact, even if you don't know how, that you will drive traffic to your site. You will see ads all over the internet promising you traffic to your sites.

Online advertising can be expensive for the prime pages. MSNBC gets $30,000 for a text ad on the side of their site! Dont' worry, there are a lot less expensive ways and even free ways to generate traffic for yourself.

There are a lot of Classified ads online that you can advertise for free on. If you put up 3-5 ads everyday on a classified site, after a couple of weeks, people will know of your site. Alot of Classifieds online work on points or credits, meaning you need to click on somebody else's ad and in turn you will have credits for them to click on your ad.

You can send out Solo Ads fairly inexpensively. These are ads that go straight into the inbox of the sites membership. You should set up a mailbox that isn't your regular e-mail, for these ads. You will be getting MASSIVE e-mail! If you get a Gmail account you can set up filters so all of the ads you receive go to one place where you can easily manage them.

As long as I can remember, I was never comfortable in my own skin. I was very self-conscious about the way I looked and was constantly comparing myself to others, and wishing how I looked like them. I was very skinny all the way through high school and definitely was not cheer leader material.

People always said “Oh, she is beautiful!”, but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I didn’t behold myself well!

Everywhere you look today there are smiling models on magazine covers, on television ads, in the shows and movies you watch. Why do we compare ourselves with them? Is that the way we are supposed to look? Here in Hawaii, go to any beach I don’t care if you are in Waikiki or at Makaha Surfing Beach, you WILL NOT see a beach full of lean and toned bodies!

No matter what your age, you can be in your twenties, thirties, forties all the way up to your seventies and you can still look good, be in good health and have a toned body. Just look at Jane Fonda or Susan Lucci! They are older than me and look better than me. Of course I am sure that they have the means to keep their looks as well. So is it a matter of money that is keeping you from being happy with what you see in the mirror? Money has nothing to do with it, it is about knowing how.

Most of my twenties I spent at the gym toning up. I thought I was overweight at 115 and 5 foot 6 inches! LOL! But your muscles do have memory, so you can easily get yourself back into shape, and without all the hours spent at the gym.

It may surprise you that many of the foods recommended that we eat to be healthy and the exercises that we do will actually not flatten your tummy or give you 6 pack abdominal muscles. How you lose weight and tone up can simply be a matter of re-educating yourself and have an open mind on losing that fat that you find so unsightly. It is a matter of fact that after the age of 40 you start to lose muscle tone. How can you tone up and lose weight?

I sat down about 4 hours ago to work on my website. I went to my email first. That's okay you have to know what is going on, check your sales, email from family and friends. But there is all that email that comes to you from the sites you advertise from, ezines, social sites. Is all that really necessary? I mostly unsubscribe but to a few. This is why. When I post a classified ad, that site sends me an email, that a solo ad will generate tons of traffic to my site! So of course, we all want traffic to our sites, right? Next thing I know I am signing up for yet another site. The page wouldn't come up, so I definitely take that as a sign, and said, Wake up Linda! Your are losing your focus! You need to get your web page up and running before your 3 pm webinar. Get to work and make some money online, instead of joining more sites, which means more emails and on and on!

Working from home and earning income to replace your job is very challenging. Most people just give up after their first several months. The truth is that online earning is hard, you need to build relationships with people, have products that they want, have your own page or landing page to advertise. All of this takes time. It will be awhile before you can spend more time with your family, or be financially independent or go online 4 hours a day and be done!

I copy and paste them to a wordpad document and use the ones that don't bring up 60,000 sites! Too much competition! With keywords that bring up 5000 or under usually will get you better results.

Weird title, yes I know, but I have a good reason for it!

Last December 7, 2011 I was taken to the Emergency Room by my husband because I thought I was having a stroke. I have this weird thing called "pre cursor warnings to stroke" due to a crinkled vein in the back of my skull. That is what my ex-neurologist told me and put me on aspirin. So I was having symptoms and also lower belly pain. CT scan of head and abdomen were done. 

Imagine my surprise when I found out my head was still the same, I was not having a pre cursor warning for stroke but I did have a perforated colon.(Come on now, get your minds out of the gutter, I was NOT having strange sex!) Lucky for me the best surgeon was there and explained to my husband and myself that I needed immediate surgery or I would die. I'm like, What? My husband is like totally stunned and freaked. I ask what are my chances without surgery, Doc said "You Will Die" straight up guy, yeah? I said what are my chances with surgery and he says 99.9% that you will live.

The cut they made was started around my piko (belly button) and all the way down to my bikini line, if I could still wear one! lol! This is on top of two other surgery's I had over the years, one was like a C-Section cut and the other was an appendectomy. So I had always exercised hard on my stomach, but this cut was too much! I was in the hospital for 10 days, Eric visited me daily and smuggled in my favorite yogurt, French Vanilla Yoplait Original! I had to get up and start walking from day 1. Oweeee! I won't go into the gory details any further.

Come April 2012 I had a second surgery to reverse the first! They wanted all my colon back inside my body, sounds good to me, put it where it belongs. But they cut the same cut again! I cannot stand to look in the mirror any more and exercising is really hard with the back problems I have from years of horses, Harley's and car wrecks! That would take up a whole other blog!

I got me a Pilate's flex able tube from Publishers Clearing House, yes, I will someday win! I haven't really been able to use it, I have that really tough to lose lower belly fat. As I always mention our cats and dogs, Nohea, my Ridgeback, Pittbull, and yes, Basenji, barkless dogs is not doing well at all. She had taken a fall down the stairs and as she is an older dog, poor thing couldn't stand long enough to eat her food. I don't want to put her down, I believe that God decides when it is our time to go, but I don't want to see her suffer, either.We are fund raising for her Vet visit, and hopefully we can rid her of some of her pain until she heals from her fall. We love her so much, she is the sweetest non barking dog I have ever rescued or kept.

I am actively pursuing my online income from home ever since my lifesaving surgery that I had last December 7, 2011. I have started to put together my web page. Just yesterday I started picking out the template and putting in the text. Since I do this to better my family's life, I also am doing this to better my "Waianae Animal Rescue" efforts. Now that September is here, our first cat rescue, Scampers, is 15! She is just HUGE and we can remember when she fit in the palm of our hand. She still lives up to her name, she Scampers around all the time! The only mistake we made with this one was playing rough with her when she was little and now that she isn't little anymore, she still wants to play rough! OUCH! She was the last of the litter at the boatyard where Eric worked, the dogs had gotten the whole litter except for Scampers and her Mom. Then came Bob, we rescued him from dying from Parvo, which is horrible here in Hawaii, please get your animals immunized! There was two puppies, Bob and Bill, (any friends of out there?). Unfortunately, Bill died before we could get him to the Vet, but Bob survived, and if you have been keeping up with this Blogg, you have seen his pic on here, making sure all the yogurt is out of the container! Scampers is the middle "dog" I don't know how to fix her eyes....still working on those skills! LOL!  We still have 5 cats and Bob and Nohea, we can not take on any more until we are finished providing area's for the animals we rescue so we can find them loving homes. We have about 4 feral outside (cats) that our neighbor and I give shelter and food too. They need to be caught and fixed and then put backs to their turf. Cats are very territorial.



This is Scampers the birthday kitty. Every time I tried to take her picture she kept walking toward me so her whole head filled the screen! I think she looks great for her age, what about you? On the right is Tar, our "too sexy" kitty.

Where Did August Go?!

 

 

 

Wow! September 1st already! August went by so fast and hot and humid and furious. Thank God that I live in Hawaii and can exercise at the beach. There is some kind of magnetic field in the ocean that just makes you feel so refreshed. Of course, I am physically unable to boogie board anymore, so I walk the shoreline and just get in the water and do arm circles and leg exercises. I swear last weekend I saw a small shark! Just after watching Shark Week on TV and I look down from where I was treading water and saw about maybe 2-3 foot long, what my husband said is probably a sand shark. Well, I was soo out of that water! He likes to swim and was supposed to go to the Olympics for Swimming, set records at his high school that still have not been broken, and he told me that he had seen some white tips much further out in the water than I choose to venture!

That is a pic of me and my old dog, Bob, who is 15 and a half years old! I love my best friend so much! I hope we check out at the same time, because I cannot even bear the thought of losing him. He is very smart and very special! Last blog I put a pic of him cleaning out my yogurt container very carefully and considerately. He used to boogie board with me, until he got whipped up in the shorebreak one day! We taught him to swim when he was just a little guy!

 

Of course, all the animals are pretty slow moving in the heat of the day .here on the West Coast of Oahu. I am not complaining! Hell, no, not when I see temps up to 115 degrees on the mainland! About the middle of August Eric, my husband, came home from shopping and said "I have a surprise for you" and in the back of the pickup was my dream dog! Female, blue, American Pitt Bull Terrier, a little white stripe on her chest and little white toes! I was like OMG! What are we going to do with her? We can't let her inside because of the cats plus our two older dogs, we gotta introduce them slowly.....Our kennels are not finished..she is very well cared for and somebody is missing her! He had found her running around by the Waianae Vet and McDonalds, he was afraid she would get hit by a car so he grabbed her. That is what we do rescue animals in distress! We ended up finding the collar Bob had when he went "missing" a couple of years ago and ended up at the ASPCA, and we had to use a cable to contain her in the side kennel area. I always had wanted a dog just like her, but at the same time, we aren't equiped for more animal costs right now and our kennels are incomplete. Long story short (too late already!) I called the Vet in the morning and told the girl we had found the dog. Later that day she called me back and the dogs owner had called her as well looking for her baby! When I spoke to her on the phone, she was so happy! How well I knew those tears of happiness from when I found Bob! So it is not time yet for me to have my "perfect dream dog" and that's okay, I know the blessings come when you are ready for them! So Happy September 2012! Some of you folks on the mainland are starting to go into fall, or in California, Indian Summer. I love it there at this time of year. The days are warm and the nights chilly. Here we are waiting on the Big North Swells to start hitting the West Coast of Oahu, especially Makaha Surfing Beach. Best time of the year to get a tan and try to get rid of my soft stomach. After 2 surgeries, one last December and one last April 2012, I need alot more than crunches.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Internet Marketing Advertising! I went to Google Search last night plugged in some keywords from my last blog and boom! There was my blog on the first search about the seventh link down. Impressive, right? Not really, because of course, I know what all the keywords would be for what I just wrote. Remember to always write keyword rich articles, blogs, and ads!


There are many options available to deliver traffic to your site. Lets review some of them.


If you do not have a large advertising budget, don't worry! There are many ways to get traffic to your site. Blogging, articles, Google Adwords, Classifieds, Craigs list, Facebook, Twitter, just right off the top of my head, and that's just a few. Things have changed since 2008 with Social Media being such a big part of being online. You can advertise on these sites and for example, Facebook, will email you your stats and your charges. Looking at these stats are very important because it allows you to see what is working and what is not.

Whatever your business is what you need is a much traffic to your site as you can possibly get. Here are some basics that you can do and should do as a business owner.

 Set Goals! Honestly, it is very necessary to challenge yourself to meet your goals! But setting goals is only part of the picture. Achieving them is even more important. You need to learn to identify which goals are important enough to commit to, and systematically work towards them by breaking them down into steps, meet smaller goals that will help you to accomplish your large goal

Work daily towards one of the small goals you set. Don't stop working until it is done. Rome was not built in a day and neither is your business going to be started in a day. Focus is really a priority here. Is what you are doing right now online helping you to achieve that goal? It is so easy to get side tracked with email, friends request,etc,and before you know it your time is up and you have been swimming in circles during your whole business building time! Sound familiar?

It really helps too, if you have somebody who will help you to accomplish all the tasks that need to be done in your time online. I have my husband who is going to help me out M-F surfing the traffic exchanges. Yes, I know, everybody just wants you to click on their page and join their opportunity. However, if you are marketing a niche market, something allot of people want, or how to make your current business succeed, it is not just another program. Learn how to write powerful headlines and good ad copy. Check your stats and change your headline or copy if your ad's stats are low. Classified ads are good and there are allot of sites online you can post to. If you post 3-5 ads per day, you would have as many as 14-35 ads per week. The more somebody sees your ad the more likely they are to open it up. Exposure and numbers build your traffic.

Our animal rescue efforts continue! We always fund raising. We are hoping to build a safe enclosed area outside for the cats and at least 6 kennels and a run area for the dogs. We will adopt them out to good owners. I know that I will be screening them very closely! The way I rescued my first dog Bob, was a room mate had obtained 2 puppies for his 5 year old. After a week, the poor things were in a plywood box maybe 4 X 4 ft square. I kept telling myself, they are not your puppies, don't worry about them, but I just couldn't stand to see them all penned up like that in their own mess. I made a small run for them in our carport and started letting them in the house, etc. One day I noticed that both had diarrhea and were very lethargic. We called a Vet who said to bring them in at 3 PM (this was on a Sunday). It was so heartbreaking that one of the puppies died before we could get him there. It was Parvo that killed him. I nursed the other pup back to health, got him his shots and ended up being Mom when the girl whose puppies they were told me "he is yours now because you saved his life." He is now 15 years old and he is such a wonderful animal. They never forget when you save them.

Four Long Years Offline

Aloha!

So much has changed on the internet since 2008 when I was last online to do anything but pay the bills. Yes, I have a Facebook, MySpace, Wayn, and Twitter accounts now, and am learning how to use them. LOL! The good thing is my office at home is air conditioned so that makes it easier for me to spend time online. Hawaii is very muggy and humid in the summer.

I am a netprenuer. Last time I did this I did make money but not enough. My mentor passed away, so I just took my earnings and closed my accounts. I became a Senior Representative with PFS Investments, which is an offline biz. We really can do good things for people financially, so I really liked that, helping people. It is a great company and gives allot of bonuses and override money paid directly from PFS to me. But I just needed more, so I am back online and loving every minute of it, learning all the new technology.

I looked for a legitimate home biz. I researched and researched, everything from data entry to typing jobs, virtual assistant until I found a real way to make the kind of income I want with Income Infuser. I have 2 dogs I rescued Bob and Nohea. Nohea showed up at my job one day with no hair, neglected, skinny and looking like she had just had a litter of pups. I ran to the nearest shop for a collar and leash came back, and after being there all day, she was gone. The next day at work, she came back, so this time I was ready for her! I named her Nohea because she had no hair, but Nohea in Hawaiian, actually means handsome, or nice to look at. So funny! When her fur came back she turned out to be a Ridgeback/Pittbull mix and so sweet! I don't know how badly she was abused but to this day 10 or 11 years later, she jumps at things being dropped and OMG, when New Years Fireworks are going off I have to drug her, poor thing. Our third dog, Kala, was pure American Pitt Bull, and so beautiful! Red nose, chocolate, head as big as a basket ball. My husband would take that dog to work with him every day to his boatyard, and everybody would be buying that one plate lunches, fast food or whatever! We called him Brown Security. We once found a part of a pair of jeans on our fence by Kala. I guess somebody was trying to rip us off, and got a big surprise! There was actually feces (human) on the jeans! We lost our "boy" in 2010, it is like losing a child. He passed in his Dad's arms. He was 12 years old and we were able to provide him with a great life. We get too attached to them if they are inside with us, the outside cat area will be completely enclosed, so they will have the same safety from other cats, humans, cars and dogs that our indoor felines enjoy. The Humane Society recommends that all cats should be inside pets...they live a lot longer.

Watch Out For Scams!!

Aloha from God's Country, Waianae, Hawaii. Much to my dismay, I was almost the victim of a Mystery Shopper scam earlier this week! My husband Eric brought home the mail from our PO Box and I almost threw it out, but curiosity got the better of me and I opened it to find a check made out to me in the amount of $2446.70! We looked at it and at the letter that came with it; WOW! The letter came from Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions LLC, Garland, Texas. Now what does a drilling company have to do with mystery shoppers? The letter said I was to be paid $300 for going shopping at KMart, Walmart or Home Depot and spend $100. Then I was to wire by Western Union a total of 1876.70 to two different people and pay the service fee of $170 for both. Of course, we get to keep what we bought with the $100! A number was listed to call to activate cashing of the check. "Jerry" answered the phone at the other end, asking me if I understood my assignment. Of course, I said excitedly and could my husband be a "Mystery Shopper" as well? Jerry said when they received my report back (which was to be faxed immediately upon completion of my "tasks") they would mail out an application for him. So off to the bank I go, asking the teller how long would it take for the check to clear. Long story short (or too late already?! lol) thank you Jesus, the teller was on top of it and told me that the check looked like a scam, she went into the back office and came back stating the routing numbers didn't match up to the bank name and why would a drilling company need mystery shoppers? If the check was a scam our bank accounts would be closed! I called and gave Eric the bad news, he took it really well, I mean we really believed we would be shopping and even discussing what we needed the most! He called Jerry and told him he knew he was running a scam. He got hung up on. When I got home and called I said Hey Jerry! This is Linda and I want to know how your scam works, do you get the money I am sending through Western Union? Let me know, how do you do it? He mumbled something and hung up. So I call right back and get a message that I have reached a voicemail box that had not been activated yet! I gotta admit, I thought I was more streetwise than to fall for a scam like that and my feelings were hurt! But thanks to a bank teller that was on top of her job, we are not digging ourselves out of a big financial mess!  If you google scams, you will see the mystery shopper scam. I hope that Jerry is out of business and if anybody knows how to report mail fraud or whatever please let me know, I would love to see these people get theirs.
