The Day After Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year! We had some friend over and had some frustration in hooking up our new DVD player to watch "Pirates of the Carribean at World's End." Still haven't seen the movie, spent the whole time talking! We got a special Edition DVD that has deleted scenes, bloopers and a second Disc. Now when our friends leave today, I will have to bring the DVD Player up to our bedroom and set it up all over again. Should be able to do it! I am slightly technically challenged!

I got a great little digital camers from Kodak. It takes photos as well as video's. Only thing is, they didn't provide me with a media card! Is that stupid or what? So still using the old Canon digital I caputured whole holiday and now I can make a slide show out of it. I loaded up some tunes on my husbands MP3 player that he bought months ago and could figure out! All we had to do was drop and drag the song to the device, it was so easy it made me laugh how long we waited before adding any music for it.It is back to work for him today at the boatyard, and me, I have the State of Hawaii Unemployment office stating they need to see me today at 10 am with paystubs because there are none on their records. They don't have my employer listed right!

Tomorrow I will start work at WCCHC as a call in filling in for the receptionist that is out for surgery. WCCHC is one of the countries best publicly owned non profit heatlh center in the US! Maybe you will learn a few words in Hawaiian at the site. The view there is stunning, we sit on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean from here to Japan.

Still have New Years to get through! Fireworks are really big here and they set them off right in the neighborhood. Lat year one of my kitties got asthma from all the smoke! I gotta give my dogs "doggie downers" to keep them from getting too hyped up especially, my firstborn, Bob! Here is a link to pet care, cats and dogs.

Gotta go! Gotta put in some resumes online. Part of unemployment here is looking for work at least 3 places every week.

Go to Bizpreneur and join up with an awesome online forum. We are all there to market our products and make new contacts and friends. I think this is the best way to find prospects for my Send Out Cards business and WMS. Check out the deals at Ebay, too! We all know how the day after Christmas is a big shopping day with all the stores marking everything down to the bottom line.Above is a photo of the tri colored Gold Ring my husband got me for XMAS, it is a turtle, Honu and my amakua, guardian angel. Learn more about amakua and Hawaiian traditions and legends!

Make your day a good one!

Christmas is here!

Aloha and Christmas is coming in sunny and cool at night here in the Islands. I still have to decorate our tree, only the lights are up so far. Here is a pic of me and my hubby in front of the tree so now you all know how we look. (don't hold it against us!)

I have had a Safelist for years, and suddenly one day all my admins went out at once, I mean they were reallly outdated! I lost a lot of members on that one. 2007 was not a good year for me and family problems, job changes and hours, kept me offline, but I am back now and working my home businesses. I just went into my list and cleaned it up, sent out an admin to everyone, telling them to enable their accounts for their free pro upgrades. Free Pro sends once a day, paid pro gets a second daily autosend of their saved ad. It is called Dreamslist, as we all have our dreams and hopes, yeah? Join and activate your account and I will give you a free pro upgrade.

But even better than Safelists these days are the online forums. There are just so many of them! It is a great place to meet people, network and see how you can help each other out. Everyone probably already has a MySpace, but do you know about Bizpreneur or Ojeez? Ryze has been around for awhile and was probably one of the first such forums.

Sunday night and I can't think of a single program I want to watch! Whatever happened to Law and Order the original? Oh, yeah, Cold Case and Shark, I think I already missed Cold Case! My favorite Law and Order Criminal Intent is now on USA network and is just great. I am a big fan of Vincent Di'Nofrio, who played the bug in Men In Black. Remember?

I just wanted to check in for a quick post, gotta go decorate that tree, and hopefully, program my husband MP3 player, as a surprise for him for Christmas. After the Holidays are all over and we are all back to business go create a guest account for your self at Send Out Cards. This is a win/win and also you might want to look into getting your part of the Fortune 500 companies money by advertising for them. Neither business is MLM and if you want to work from home, you can really cash in on either one of these.

Have a great Holiday and spend it with the ones you love, four legged or two!

Later,

Linda

Johnny Depp's Newest Movie!

Hey! Have you heard about Sweenry Todd? Johnny Depp is the star and this promises to be an amazing display of his talent. It opened today!

I lived in London in 1973 to 1974 and I heard about Sweeney Todd, especially as I worked at a hairdresser. I was the sandwich and tea girl, and waited on many famous rock stars there, Mick Fleetwood, who was so tall with his platform shoes on I just kept looking up, up, up, lol! He was a gentleman and a good tipper. Also Rod Stewart. I am trying to remember the name of the hair dresser's shop, it may have been Sweeney Todd's!

I have been a Depp fan since 21 Jump Street. That was a T.V. series where he played a copy under cover as a high school student. He sure doesn't seem to age much! He does so well in the "period" pieces, my favorite "From Hell." The story of Jack the Ripper and Johnny played the lead detective who was also an opium addict. He portrayed this charactor so well, that his personal demons (addiction) didn't take away from his exceptional detective abilities. Very three dimensional, like real people are, and he was the charactor. I wasn't watching Johnny Depp, I was watching his charactor. I have watched this movie time and time again. This movies comes as close to the truth as we will ever get to the mystery of Jack the Ripper, with the exception of the ending where Kate lives, in reality the Ripper got her. He looks so handsome in those old English Clothes!

Of course Pirates of the Caribean was just great. What talent! He can make any character so believalbe. The Search for the Black Pearl, the second movie was just as much fun. I haven't seen the last movie, yet, but I will get the DVD.

Anytime I see the name Johnny Depp I see the movie. Donnie Brasco, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Rear Window (also written by my favorite author, Stephen King,) I can't remember the name of the movie, it may have been Cocaine, where Depp played a true life role of one of California's big time drug smugglers, set in the 70's. How about the 9th Gate? That was intense!

I know I must be missing some movies, remind me! When I saw the commercial for Sweeney Todd I knew the next movie my husband and I were going to! He too, is a Johnny Depp fan. Especially, the period of time in England the movie is set in, I know the sets will be the bomb and of course, Johnny always goes way beyond my expectations.

Let me know what you think!

Happy Holidays!

Aloha!

Happy Holidays to everybody!

Still on going to the online forums...I have been offline for quite a while, my Mom and Dad both passed away this year, Mom in January and Dad in October. It has been a very difficult time. My brother and I are in the process of selling the home, which Dad threw into a reverse mortgage, so the loan is now due and payable and we cannot afford to keep the home in the family. Our home here in Hawaii is our family home now.

Christmas in Hawaii. 80 degrees cool, sunny and Holiday lights up everywhere. The first year we lived here, 1995, was a record breaking heat wave year with Holiday temps up into the 90's! I swear I was going to kill my husband for bringing me here. After 12 years I have acclimated and I think my blood thinned out, so I can actually tell the changing of the Seasons. Did you know the full moon will be on Christmas Eve? Right on! The tree is downstairs soaking in water and smells just wonderful.

My "real" job laid me off last week Thursday. No severance pay, nothing. Downsizing I was told. Well, I choose to look at this in a positive light. I can now spend some time building my online business at Send Out Cards. It is not too late to still mail out you Holiday Greetings! With Send Out Cards mailing out multiple times daily to make sure your cards get there on time.

For all of you animal lovers, like me, I just sent away for a free sample of cat food and ran across a great link about cats and their behavior. As you know I have rescued 6 of them as well as 3 dogs, so we have a full house. I will take all the free samples I can get! Click here for information on your cat and behaviors, I have learned alot about them just by having six of them! Scampers is my alpha female and she really doesn't want anything to do with the rest of the pride. She thinks she is people, is 10 years old now, and still "scampering" about. Rusty, my alpha male, brought up all the younger kitties as we rescued them, "nursing" them from his front leg! Now my two younger males, Bo and Mikki, even though all my animals are spayed or neutered have a nasty little habit of pissing on the walls, marking their turf, or on any rug I have down in the home. Anybody can shed some light on that one for me? Email to: lsorens@gmail.com with "Cat Behavior" in the subject box so I don't delete you!

What are your favorite shows on T.V.? Mine is Law and Order, especially Criminal Intent, more specifically, Vincent Di'Nofrio's character. It moved to USA Network new and we record it so we don't miss it every week. Vincent Di'Nofrio and Katherine Erbe's charactors are just great! Chris Noth has recently joined the cast also, he has been in Law and Order since it's inception and is really a good actor as well. Can anybody tell me what happened to the original Law and Order? I know Sam Waterson is now D.A. but I can't seem to find the show anywhere.

Got any last minute shopping to do? Or anytime you need to shop, we all know about e-bay. I recently got involved in it, working as an affiliate. It is a Fortune 500 company now, did you know that? Go here to shop, and go here to find out how you can profit. This business has a low start up cost and is not MLM, no phone calls, no selling, just advertise for these Fortune 500 companies and their staff does all the calling and selling. They are good, believe me, I got in! After almost 8 years now online, I am not an easy sell, either. Plus, I can advertise my Send Out Cards business on my site, which the company sets up for me.

Still at the online forums meeting new contacts and networking. I think the Internet has changed so much in the last 8 years. I remember when you could actually email people and the email would get to them. The spam filters are so high now that it is near impossible to market that way, although I still use Group Mail. It is effective and quick. You can even get a free version, but you have to limit your groups to 100 contacts at a time.

My online handle is Alohalady! I have "branded" myself which also helps you when you are trying to earn from home and get out of the "rat race!" Every morning I watch the local news and traffic and Thank God I am not in it anymore.

Check some of my earlier posts for links to the online forums or email to lsorens@gmail.com with "Online Forums" in the subject box. I can then "whitelist" you and you won't get deleted. I am merciless with that delete key!

I look forward to any replies to this post

Alohalady Suggests Online Forums

As a continuation of my previous blogs, I want to tell you about online forums. Remember the days, if you have been online long enough, when you just sent out bulk email, harvested addresses from free classfied ad sites, ffa pages and that? Well, it is a whole new scene now online. Good luck even trying to get any mail through the spam filters of any ISP, even if you are whitelisted at AOL your e-mail will probably be returned to you! Online forums are great, you can meet so many people and find out what common ground you have, build relationships and see where maybe their business might help your business.

It is alot of fun to meet new people! Some of these communities actually offer you ownership in them so that when they sell you will get a share of the profits! All forums have their own set of rules about posting, so make sure you read them before you post. A suggestion, don't just sign somebody's guest book with an advertisement! Get to know people first, see what they are doing and see if you can help them to succeed. The more people you help the more success will come your way. You get out the energy you put in! Karma or what goes around comes around, you know what I mean.

So here are some of my favorite forums, they are an ongoing work just like this blog is! Ryze has been around the longest that I know of. I have gone through 3 computers with Ryze. So for my whole 7 years online, Ryze was one of the first forums online and one of the first I joined. You can view my Ryze Page here. Leave me a comment with your email address and I will invite you to join!

BusinessEntrepreneurNetwork is all about marketing. You can buy in as a Gold Member it is still $59.99 but is going up $10 in the very new future. You can even break it into monthly payments of $15 for 4 months. This is a community that when it sells will share it's profits with you. I am having alot of fun (and frustration!) with this one, setting up my page, MP3's, photos, forums, it is really alot of fun, in those hours of the day when I cannot be on the phone showing somebody how to send out cards to enhance their business or simply to make money by sending out cards!

I met the new one of the new founders and owners of O'Jeez at Bizprener. This is a new forum and is growing like wildfire. Also, this is going to distribute profits to it's members! All of these forums give you plenty of opportunities to build your business contacts and what everybody calls the list. The list, the list, the list, the money is in the list! The money is in the relationships you have in that list!

Everybody has heard of MySpace! This is a fun community with a lot of fun people. Yes, you can market there but it is also a place to take a break and have some fun and laughs. This forum did sell and made alot of money, but the members weren't included in the profits! Too bad! Great place to keep in touch and meet new people.

That will keep you busy for months! I am constantly designing and re designing my pages and profiles. After all these years online I have met some really awesome people. As far as marketing goes, DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED! It takes time to build a business and consistent efforts for years, not a week or a month! Find a good fit for you and stick to it. You will succeed. It really is that simple. Positive energy attracts positive energy. Think like a winner and you will become one. I never go online when my frame of mind is negative, I just stay away! We all have our good days and our bad days. It is totally up to you what kind of day you will have today. You decide. You take action. You get results!

I love my business, Send Out Cards! It is fun, it is easy, it is profitable and the support of my coach is beyond amazing! Fill out the form so I can show you the cards. I am using it to make money, but you can also use it to enhance your business with thank you cards, reminders, encouragement....letting people know you appreciate them! We just built a brand new facility to accomodate the increased number of cards we are sending out every day! Greeting Cards is a billion dollar a year industry and we are the only company that does this online. Timing is important and the time couldn't be better than now. I don't really need to say anything else about my cards, because they sell themselves. Seeing is believing!

Until December when I will be earning one thousand per month from my part time home business, I just lined up a new job for myself with a significant difference in pay. I have worked for the same company for 10 years, but wasn't happy with my pay. I would get depressed on payday and that is never a good thing! LOL! As of July 30 Monday I will start my new position with 4 Internal Medicine Docs that share an office, is very busy and I really liked the feeling when I walked in there for my interview. Oahu is a small Island and I know the Medical Assistant there from my current and soon to be old job....so I already have a friend there. I am excited and nervous, but so grateful to my company that gave me the skills I needed to find a job that compensates me fairly for the work that I do. The attitute of Gratitude is a good mindset to be in!

You can read up on self improvement, positve thinking, secrets to success and any other subject that may help you online by "reading a book" at Leisure Audio Books. We offer instant downloads to thousands of title to audio format, so you can listen to your book while you are cleaning house, wrenching on the care or motorcycle, driving to work, sitting on the bus...catch up with your reading! Prepare yourself for success! There is also an affiliate program with Leisure Audio Books and simple step by step instructions on how to market it successfully!

So there it is some resources to help you out online! Anytime you want to reach me email to: lsorens@gmail.com

Besides Animals I love to make money online!

After a short introduction as to how to care for pets, and I have a lot more info on that subject, believe me! All of my animals have taught me much about their behavior, instincts and how they communicate with me!

On to online marketing! After 7 years online at times making six hundred per week and at times making fifty a month, I have realized that you get out what you put in. A mistake many make is to spread themselves too thin, too many opportunities to really focus in and work a home business.

Find the perfect fit for you. What do you like to do? Will you pick up the phone and talk to your business partners? That is what your uplines and downlines are, your PARTNERS! You are in business together. There is so much hype online today, email marketing is really hard to do as spam filters are set so high, I cannot even email my family members from my gmail to AOL! Even though I am on their "whitelist!" A very handy tool is Group Mail. You can get a free version, but you have to keep your groups to 100 per group. But, this allows you to personalize 100 emails at a time and send them all at once, instead of going to your address book and doing one email at a time or not personalizing them at all. The upgrade to Personal Version is affordable and renewing it is even cheaper in a year.

I am a member of Ultimate Rep, with an amazing mentor who lives comletely from his onlne income and created Cognigen Networks about 13 or 14 years ago. He was in my GDI upline and I emailed him what I considered a "nasty" email, asking him what about all us little guys down here. I felt like an idiot when suddenly all my downlines exploded and he was thanking me for giving him a " wake up call!" Maybe I was polite and nasty at the same time, I don't know! Since this business partner has come into my life, I earn steady money every month. He created a downline builder which showcases Cognigen and Liesure Audio Books as the "flagship" businesses of his downline builder. If you clicked the link above you noticed if you had your speaker on that it spoke your name and Send Out Cards has a small banner on the lower left. That is my main focus! With my site Alohaladycards I am "branding" myself online as Alohalady. I use the splash/squeeze pages Ultimate Rep offers to bring people into my businesses, as I can advertise just one link and whoever join Ultimate Rep, will join the programs I am in under me. Among the resources at Ultimate Rep are Traffic Exchanges. Other than online forums, such as BusinessEntrepreneurNetwork, these resources work the best for me. Picking up the phone and just showing somebody how easy it is to Send Out Cards works better than anything else! I have a great coach who earned 6 figures last year with the cards alone, not mentioning she is a top earner at Cognigen as well. Find something that you can duplicate your sponsors success. That is why I pIcked Send Out Cards, it is the only business online that offers this product and service. And it is FUN! Most of us already have jobs we can barely tolerate but have to go to to pay the bills. With consistent effort and focus, using the forums to build relationships and the traffic exchanges to drive visitors to your site, you will soon be in the 5% group of people who actually make money online. Do not get distracted! Stay focused on what you want, set your goals, short and long term and take the steps you need to take to reach them! Email to lsorens@gmail.com if you want to connect with me personally. I have set up 20 complimentary gift accounts at Send Out Cards if you want to become a part of a billion dollar a year industry whose only competition is offline at your local Hallmark store! Just click on the banner where it says "send card." Well, it is late and I am making a lot of typo's so subscribe to this blog and let me know what you think!

Cats and Dogs!

Aloha from Animal Rescue on Oahu!

I started on the Internet about 8 years ago as my family of cats and dogs grew. These animals were rescues and somehow my husband and I just got so attached to them that they never did get adopted out! I needed extra money to feed, take them to the vet, spay or neuter, medications and pet supplies. I have learned how to earn from home and help to defer the costs of my pets.

In June 2005 we purchased our first home here in Hawaii, so now I can really get into the animal rescue as I can build kennels and enclosed areas for my cats. All of my cats are indoor animals, you can read more about that at the official ASPCA site. You create a "cat friendly" environment in your home, much as you would creat a "child friendly" home if you had a baby!
I have learned much from my pride of cats! The first few that were brought up with my husband and I are much friendlier with people than the later kitties that came to us and were basically brought up by my alpha male, Rusty. He would hold out his front leg and let the babies "nurse" from there. I always thought that my alpha female would be the one to do this! She is totally human oriented as the original rescue from the boatyard my husband was working at when we brought her home. Cats are territorial and all have a position in the pride. One of my later males, Bo, was given to me as an older cat and at first would not come out of the bedroom.
He slowly made his way to the main living areas of the home and now is competing with Scampers, my alpha female, for the head cat position. They chase each other around a-lot! Rusty and Bo have reached an agreement as they sniff noses all the time. Cats communicate with each other on many levels. This was proved to me at one home we rented where I fed approximantely 9 feral cats for 3 years. These cats knew how to get around the American Pitt Bull Terrier, Kala, that hates cats and get into our back patio, where my other two dogs, Bob and Nohea, are "cat friendly." I think every cat in that neighborhood was told about the free food and basic medical attention I would give them as more and more showed up! Another great site for cats is My Paw Points. I save the coupon that comes with the cat litter and add up points until I have enough to purchase an item or get some free cat litter. The site also has much information on cat care and cats in general.

Next time I blog I will talk more about dogs and some of our experiences with ours! I would love to hear your stories about your pets!
